The proposed batch recoding of authority records as a result of the implementation of Resource Description and Access (RDA) presents an opportunity to reconsider Program for Cooperative Cataloging (PCC) policies on undifferentiated names in the LC/NACO Authority File. In the spring of 2012, PCC developed an exploratory paper to investigate the issues surrounding undifferentiated names, and the consequences of changing PCC policies to differentiate them.

The PCC invites the community to a forum for discussing the exploratory paper on undifferentiated names in the LC/NACO Authority File at the PCC Participants Meeting.
